An inner tube is a balloon-like structure, which can be inflated and deflated using a valve. The inner tube is your air-cushion, and when inflated beneath the tyre it provides you with a comfortable, safe ride. The inner tube is a tubular structure, made with synthetic rubber (butyl), which contains gas or air under pressure and which is placed inside the tires. Its function is to make riding more comfortable by softening the rotation of the wheel.
