The clutch slave cylinder is responsible for actuating the clutch release mechanism, which disengages the clutch from the engine flywheel when the clutch pedal is pressed. The clutch slave cylinder is responsible for transferring hydraulic pressure from the clutch master cylinder to the clutch release mechanism, which engages and disengages the clutch.
