Signs and symptoms when defective

1. The Glass is Broken

Broken glass is the most obvious sign it’s time for a side mirror replacement. If the glass is chipped or cracked, the image in the side mirror will be distorted and put you at risk of getting into an accident. Unfortunately, it’s extremely hard to detect hairline cracks in your side mirror without inspecting it closely. Unless you want a web of invisible hairline cracks suddenly causing your side mirrors to shatter, get them routinely inspected by a reputable auto glass service.

2.The Motor Inside It Isn’t Working

If your vehicle is old, chances are you need to physically move a knob to adjust the angle of your side mirrors. However, new vehicles are equipped with automatic side mirrors that move at the push of a button using electric motors. If the buttons aren’t moving your side mirror, then either the buttons are malfunctioning or the motors in your side mirror are broken. The best thing to do in this scenario is to ring an auto glass company and get your side mirror replaced.

3. The Mirror Keeps Angling Downwards

Do you keep having to adjust your side mirror every time you start your car? If your side mirrors keep angling downwards on their own, chances are they’re coming loose! The ideal solution to this issue is to reach out to an auto glass company and have your side mirrors checked. It’s also worth being gentle when adjusting your side mirrors and using the adjustment knob or buttons instead of pushing the glass with your fingers to adjust it.
