Choke Cable - AX100
An automotive choke cable is a mechanical control cable found in some older vehicles equipped with carbureted engines. It connects the driver's control in the cabin (often a lever or knob) to the choke mechanism on the engine's carburetor. The choke cable's purpose is to adjust the air-to-fuel mixture when starting a cold engine. By pulling the cable, the driver can close the choke valve on the carburetor, restricting airflow and increasing the fuel-to-air ratio to aid cold starts. As the engine warms up, releasing the choke cable gradually opens the choke valve to allow for normal running conditions. Modern vehicles with electronic fuel injection systems have largely replaced choke cables, but they were common in older cars and trucks.
